Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication: Leonardo da Vinci
As a youngster i loved music, being an 80s baby, an MTV generation i carried with me a disk man, headphones and a few favorite CD's i wanted listening to, before mixes were sold in CDs one had to carry a few plates along, so u can imagine how it was walking down the street with a disk man and a few CD plates in my other hand, bulging pocket or in a bag although i like traveling light, but for the love of music I'd carry extra baggage and most times i don't get to listen to all the disk's but carried them along anyways ..Then with advances in technology the ipod came in where one could store thousands of MP3s in a little weightless device, these days we have wireless Bluetooth headset and headphones where u need not wires but just earplugs to move with ease, jog with ease or even run and focus on your destination, with less weight, no sagging pockets with a disc man, no headphone wires that could be uncomfortable and less luggage. Now i ask myself, where are my Music CD collection i used to pile up on my home shelve!!!!! Hmmmm, They had a good run, with new tech the world has moved on to smaller mobile devices with larger storage capacity.
My point here is the idea of holding on to luggage/unnecessary excessaries I'll say, lol sometimes glories & trophies of events past, unused clothes, shoes, electronics, paper files that can be digitized (scanned) still being piled up in our homes for dust and rats to chew on and truth is we almost rarely have no use for them anymore. Getting rid of the excess stuff, clearing the clutters from our lives is very very necessary.. We are all rich in a different way, looking at good health, good relationships, and it mustn't all be about possessions. The world we live in may not give room for simplicity, but the general mentality of "More equaled better". I believe we need to give ourselves permission to cut away the EXcess in our lives such that we can focus on what really matter.. acquiring tons of stuff definitely doesn't bring about Happiness, and Channelling energies to the wrong aspect of life such as bills, challenges, the need for the latest gadget even if they seem to be the things we require to gain happiness, but only momentarily deep inside like a void and the continuous need for something else to fill this void. The truth is, "Less is more", try getting rid of a few of your things and see how that makes you feel, as I have done and to my realisation, I've carried with me a lot of attachments or should I say emotional junk.. Funny right??
Have a beautiful life, you only have one.
