Yes as kids we all visualized life as colourful, fun, adventurous and couldn't wait to grow up to have control over your freedom, choice of food, car, clothes, tech and so on. Well when adulthood hits am very certain at some point in time you was like" Hey WTF, this isn't what i bargained for, LOL... The innocence of having not to worry about the realities of life is surely missed from time to time, although the thrill of adulthood comes with it an unending stream of wonders and also some baggage like bills, worry, responsibility, finances, health, aging and what not, that's just life. It is also most appreciative of parents who shaded kids from the real world and gave us a blissful childhood with loads of memories and smiles. Well that's in the past now and as an adult, a few harsh realities I've come to understand include;
1. Being talented does not ensure a successful life.
2. Everyone is selfish
3. You're probably definitely going to fail in a few or a lot of your endeavors.
4. A lot of people do not want you to succeed past them. Your growth and potential will be seen as more of a threat than joy from colleagues, some friends and employers irrespective of the praises and compliments showered unto you.
5. Time waits for no one. Good times or sad times, the clock keeps ticking.
6. Nothing lasts forever.
7. Not everyone is as happy as they seem.
8. Not everyone around you is a friend. Most will use you to attain their personal goals.
9. For every high mountain, there will always be a higher mountain elsewhere (Chinese saying).
10. Chances and opportunities will be gone in a split second when you are still hesitating.
11. Life has no rewind button. Its either you move on or drown in regrets.
12. Friends are not always reliable.
13. Being a nice guy gets you nowhere with women.
14. You cannot please everyone
15. Death is certain.
Yes the truth hurts, as dark as the reality may seem, so much more as bright your life can be if you choose it to be. Taking note of some of these realities doesn't mean we should give in, more so we can pick ourselves up and strive for the life we want. You might not always get it, yet Dare to dream.
Have a beautiful Life, you only have one.
